The situation

You searched ‘same day plumber’ because something's wrong right now.

No hot water — or hot water on the floor

Tank leaking, pilot out, breaker tripped, or water just won't heat. Most water heater calls are same-visit diagnosis-and-repair on common parts.

A leak you can see, or a wet spot growing

Under a sink, behind a wall, in a ceiling, or pooling at a fixture. We trace from the visible evidence and repair the source — most single-point leaks wrap on the first visit.

A toilet that won't flush, won't stop running, or is leaking at the base

Flapper, fill valve, wax ring, or flange. We pull the tank lid, diagnose, and fix in one stop on common failures.

A faucet, shower valve, or shutoff acting up

Drips that won't stop, stuck handles, low pressure at one fixture, or a shutoff that won't seal. Cartridges and seal kits for the common brands are on the truck.

A hose bib leaking or burst after a freeze

Frost-free swap, packing repair, or a single-point burst-pipe fix behind the wall — same-visit on most of them.

A drain that backed up at the worst possible moment

Kitchen sink, bathroom sink, tub, or a single fixture line. We clear what's in scope same-day; mainline and sewer work routes through the right specialist.

Tell us what you see and we'll tell you on the phone whether today fits. Here's how it works.

Call early — that is the single biggest variable

Same-day routing fills first thing in the morning. The earlier you call, the better the odds your job slots into today's route. By mid-afternoon, slots usually exist only for short, well-defined repairs.

Tell us what's going on; we triage on the phone

A few questions about what you're seeing — wet spot, no hot water, won't flush, etc. — usually tells us how long the visit needs to be and whether it fits today's open windows. No guessing, no four-hour holding patterns.

You get a specific arrival window — or a straight no

If today fits, we book a defined window — not a four-hour range. If it doesn't, we tell you that on the call, with the soonest realistic option. We don't string you along on a maybe.

Diagnosis and a written estimate before any work

On arrival, we diagnose the problem, then give you a written upfront price before we touch anything. Priced by the job, not the hour — no overtime surprises during business hours.

Most repairs done same visit

Trucks are stocked for the common failures across water heaters, faucets, toilets, hose bibs, leaks, and shutoffs. If a less common part has to come from a supply house, we tell you the timeline before we leave.

Why us

Why Portland Homeowners Choose bluefrog

SE Portland, independently owned

Morgan founded and runs bluefrog from SE Portland. The business is woman-owned and LGBTQ-owned — a team that reflects the city we serve. When you call, you reach a local shop whose owner oversees every project, not a national dispatch center routing you to whoever's available.

Flat-rate pricing, in writing

We price by the job, not by the hour. You see a written estimate after diagnosis and before we touch anything — no overtime charges, no surprises. The number on the estimate is the number on the invoice.

Fully licensed, permits handled

Every technician works under Oregon CCB #255748. We pull the permit, schedule the inspection, and close it out — you don't have to coordinate anything. The work meets Oregon code and gives your home a clean paper trail.

Your plumber is our employee, not a subcontractor

Every technician on our crew is a direct bluefrog employee — background-checked, Oregon-licensed, and accountable to Morgan personally. We don't route calls through a dispatch network or hand off to whoever's available. You'll get the right person for the job, not just whoever's next in the queue.

We had a mysterious hot water flow issue that a different plumbing company couldn't figure out, and Shae immediately solved it and fixed it same day. They were also able to get us in quickly, which I appreciated. Thank you so much!

Questions, answered

Common Questions About Same-Day Plumbing in Portland

Are you really same-day?

Yes — and we make a clear distinction between emergency and routine work. For a genuine emergency during business hours — active leak, flooded floor, a shutoff that won't close — we bump other appointments to fit you in same day. For routine repairs, same-day depends on routing: slots fill first thing in the morning, so the earlier you call, the better the odds your job fits today's route. By mid-afternoon, the only openings left for non-emergency calls are usually short, well-defined repairs. Either way, we tell you straight on the phone what's realistic — with a defined arrival window, not a four-hour maybe. The only times we genuinely can't fit a same-day call are after-hours and weekends, and that's where the partner network picks up.

How much does a service call cost?

There's no charge for the estimate itself. After we arrive and diagnose the problem, you get a written upfront price for the repair before we touch anything. We price by the job, not by the hour — so the number on the estimate is the number on the invoice. No per-hour billing, no overtime charges during business hours. After-hours partner-network calls may carry a dispatch fee; we'll tell you that on the phone before anyone rolls a truck.

What are your hours?

Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm out of our SE Portland shop. After-hours and weekend calls route through our trusted partner network — we'll tell you on the phone whether that path is faster for your situation, and what it costs, before anyone is dispatched. We're not a 24/7 shop and won't pretend to be one. For most non-emergency same-day calls, the morning slot the next business day is the better answer than an after-hours premium.

What's your service area?

Portland and the close-in metro — including Beaverton, Tigard, Hillsboro, Lake Oswego, Milwaukie, Gresham, and the surrounding communities. We're based out of SE Portland (3822 SE Franklin St), so neighborhoods east and central tend to fit a same-day route most easily. If you're farther out, call and ask — we'll be straight about whether today is realistic.

What kinds of plumbing jobs are NOT a good same-day fit?

Honest list: whole-house repipes are 2–3 day projects scheduled after a walkthrough estimate; fully invisible leaks (high water bill, nothing visibly wet) need a specialized leak-detection company that runs acoustic and sonic equipment we don't carry; mainline and sewer drain work routes through the right drain specialist; water extraction, structural drying, and mold remediation after a leak is a separate trade we'll refer to. Anything else — water heater repair, leaks you can trace, toilets, faucets, shower valves, hose bibs, shutoffs — same-day is genuinely on the table most days.

Will you charge a premium for a same-day visit?

No premium for same-day calls during business hours — same-day is what we do, not an upcharge. The price you see on the written estimate is by the job, the same way it would be for a scheduled visit. After-hours through our partner network may include a dispatch fee on top of the repair, and we'll tell you that on the phone before dispatching anyone.
